Subject: Cannot remove proxy settings in policy
Feedback Type: Problem
Product Area: Notes Client
Technical Area: Administration
Platform: Windows
Release: 8.5.2
Reproducible: Always

Hi
I have a site where they have removed the Proxy server. I then go to Policies -> desktop settings, and remove the proxy settings for all users. This does not work, old proxy name is still in all users location documents, so now users have connection problems - and are not happy. I have found a technote stating this is a problem in Notes 8.0.1, and it will be fixed in next version of Notes :
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg1LO49595
But it is not. I cannot remove the content of the proxy field using "Custom settings -> Locations" in desktop policy, since there must be a value, and typing "" actually writes "" in the fields, and that is not a valid proxy address.
I would rather not have each client edit this. Any tricks or workarounds?
Servers are 8.5.2 clients are 8.5.1 / 8.5.2.

Comments: Workaround is to type one empty space in each proxy field in . This clears Proxy values in users location documents. I find it more logical that removing a value in a policy setting also removes the value in the fields, but using empty space is then the workaround.
